This series of quilts was
inspired by a wonderful workshop I attended in Houston with Ricky
Tims called, "Quilting Caveman Style".
Just up my street. I'm still experimenting with this, so watch
this space! |

A big pile of newly hand dyed fabrics said, "Make something
- quickly." As I worked, the vibrant colours, feather shapes
and streamers said, "Carnival." Selected for Quilt 2000.

edge appliqué. Machine quilting. 38 x 45 inches. 2000.

Mirage
Made for Third Horizon after returning from Houston on stage one
of the scholarship. Crazy curved blocks surrounded by curvy strip
piecing, surrounded by more curved borders. The rippling effect
made me think of a "Mirage". Hand dyed cottons and Hoffman
batiks. Cotton wadding. Machine pieced and quilted. 36 x 41 inches.
1999.
