an exhibition featuring new work by Janice Gunner
Rheged Centre, Penrith, CA11 0DQ
Janice is delighted to have three quilts featured in a new exhibition in Cumbria.
This exciting exhibition challenges perceptions of quilt making, revealing a strong and vibrant contemporary craft form that is just as likely to be found hanging on a gallery wall or urban loft apartment as it is in a rural farmhouse.

Stone + Water + Wood
A new exhibition by Janice Gunner, Susan Denton and Cherry Vernon-Harcourt
This exhibition is about landscape: the broad view and the intimate detail of real and sometimes imagined landscape. The textiles of these three quiltmakers share a foundation in looking and contemplation. The imagery used in the work is varied and highly personal reflecting their individual concerns, but they each seek to engage viewers with a sense of time and place.
Janice, Susan and Cherry are well-established, award-winning textile artists with work in many public and private collections. Stone + Water + Wood is a collaboration between friends to celebrate what unites them in textiles, stitch and inspiration and highlight their different approaches.
